side molding removal
A couple of weeks ago I read a discussion about removing body side moldings and that most have had sucess with removing them. I have always disliked them and since I have an 2004 I figured mine would come off with ease. I used a hair dryer with some dental floss to get them started, they came off with ease, the passenger side now looks like nothing was there and buffed up perfect but the driver side door doesnt look as good. The paint is slightly faded and the molding actually left an indentation in the paint. I worked on it with polishing compound and buffing machine and I have made it look better after hours of working on it but it still can be seen. My advice to anyone trying this is to be prepared to have to visit your painter !!!!!!!

I removed mine from my 00 this spring and cannot tell they were ever there.
Are you the original owner of your car? Reason I ask is that your door and possibly other panels could have been repainted.

Hope you can get it fixed without repainting.
