Well I got all the paper work and inspections done on the vette before the snow hit here in Ontario. She is tucked away in the far bay of my garage with the new Ontario ownership and plates on her. I thought I would run some gas stableizer through the old 92 as it will sit for about 6 months Well it seems that when it was beeing
e-tested someone thought that they would mess with the gas cap. It's a locking cap with a 3 didigt combination. The guy I bought it from did not know the combo to unlock it. I know it starts with a 6 but never paid much notice to it. I thought I would replace it over the winter with a new one or something off of ebay. Never did I think someone at Canadian Tire would mess the gas cap. Other than try messing with it over the winter or calling a locksmith Im not sure how I will get it off.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to get it off? I guess the good thing is the car is full, at least I can start it up now and then
I would guess this is an aftermarket cap, it has no vette markings on it.
I could park it infront of Canadian Tire's shop until it runs out of gas and tell them that they put it on now they can take it off. Think that might work?

Sorry I wish I could help but it may while away those dark nights
I'd say you are pretty much stuck. The good news is you know it starts with a 6 so that means that you only need to try 99 combinations to get it open. (600-699). You should be able to pick that lock in about 30 minutes or less.
I think you guys are right, it would be pure luck to get it off. I guess I will have to call the lock smith to get it off. I am sorry I ment to post this in the C4 section but I guess I am having a real problem with numbers today.

Call the locksmith? Why? In the time it takes you to call, make an appointment, wait for him, wait to do his work, and charge you $100, you could drink a couple of those great Brador's and DIY.
