I became a Vette owner last year. Had a coupe, had to sell it now I want it back. Once I took the top off, I never put it back on! I love the coupe! In my quest to replace it, I come accross nice verts and I think that it's probably way to noisy (the wind) with the top off, and probably even noisy with it on. I live in FL. Give me your opinion. Thanks and Happy Holidays

Not noisy at all. Just the exhasut sound. My first 7 Vetts were coupes, and the last 3 were Verts.
I live in Florida, so a vert is a must. Love it. Top stays up on the highways, or if top goes down, windows go up. Top is tight and quiet on highways. Does not leak. If I lived in the cold climate, coupe, but since its warm hear almost all year, love the vert.
I have a coupe, my friend has a vert. I think the vert is noisier with the top up, but quieter with the top down that the coupe with roof off. I have the glass roof and really like it since it seems like the roof is off even when it is not. I can't see through the vert roof when it is up

I have a vert with the trunk/noise partition installed in it. (can't think of the right name for it) I certainly don't have db measurements to back this up, but I have owned sereral coupes and verts... A vert with the noise partition installed is AT LEAST as quiet as a coupe with out any sound deadening... just my 2 cents worth...
I bet the convertible will be more enjoyable with the top down than with a coupe's roof off. Wind noise is more smooth and you'll be buffetted by wind a lot less.
Go test drive someone's vert for more than 10 minutes. You'll see.
My wife and I were just talking about this topic today. We love our vert and love to take the top down. Our only consideration for a coupe would be as a daily driver in a part of the country with rain. We're not sure about the dependability in the top being able to keep out the water. I agree with everyone else regarding the noise. With the top up it is overall quiet because of the design of the layering system. It can get noisy with the top down if you get the speed up but it feels so good.
Once you drive a vert you will never want a coupe.are at least i dont i love the wind in my hair (what i got left) and the feel of the open cockpit and the look has got to be the best of all vetts just look at mine.
The only problem with a Vert is they are not allowed at high speed track events ... without an approved roll bar...
Other than that it's no question... VERT !
I just traded an 84 coupe for a 98 vert a few months ago. With the top up the vert is warm & comfortable, with the top down I can't tell much diffrence as far as noise or wind buffeting. I think the vert might be slightly superior on both issues.
The C5 coupe will offer you a little more trunk space, but the vert has enough for me.
