Default New rotors

Dimpled and slotted silver zinc, powder coated black hats.

This is phase 1. Waiting for my EBC Green Stuff pads to arrive to finish up the job.

Looks very nice. What sort of abuse do you plan on putting them through?

I'm curious how the dimples will stand up to track usage.

Mine do. And they keep me in the class I want to be in, too.

For what it's worth, I had the EBC Green Stuff pads on my SVT Focus and hated them. In fact, I sent EBC an e-mail voicing my displeasure with them, but never received a response. They gave off more dust than the OEM pads. If you're racing they're probably fine, but I'd never use them on a daily driver.

EDC Stuff pads are for little light weight cars, not 3200 lbs vettes.

Is there any hats, paint, or zinc plating I can buy for drilled/slotted rotors that have already rusted? I'm having problems with the hats rusting.

few things you can do to re-hab. your rotors.

Most complete method would be to remove the rotors from the car and soak them in a bucket with Oxisolv Rust Remover.
This removes the rust from the entire rotor (inside and out) and leaves a Zinc coating to inhibit the return of rust.

Of course you will get new rust on the firepath where the pad touches the rotor. But after the first application of the brakes, that rust goes away.
If you have drilled and slotted rotors, use a q-tip and clear hi-temperature paint in the slots and holes.

And I've been told to avoid ceramic pads due to the increased heat they create. Apparently they will scorch the rotors.

Can get that product here: http://www.eastwood.com

For the hats and veins(outer edge of rotors), I would paint them with hi-temperature paint.

I also find it strange that No one even mentioned the rusty condition of the spindle hub... "It's Rusty" . This needs to be sanded and painted...I am not going to believe for one minute that he is going to paint them... if this was true, he would have done it before taking the pictures... Do you think that rust will go away on it's own??? Do you think it wont bleed rust on to your new rotors... ????? I sometimes wonder why people pm me so often and so many times on the same issue but then do what they wanted to do originally anyway.

I've never washed my car or driven it in the rain, and for some strange reason they still look brand new.
