I never liked the flat wood dashes on vettes. There is a manufacturer though that made a molded kit for the vette in burl that I always liked. If you're interested, I'll get the info for you.
Whats your opinion on the dash kits? Cheezy or no?
I kinda like like the look of the burled wood but I dont want it to look cheezy. Anybody have one?
I think it's Limberger cheesy But then it aint my ride. Lots of people think the mods on my car are cheesy and I say "Joke em if they cant take a Flock" do whjat makes you happy after all, you is makin the payments, isnt you?
Personally I'm not crazy about dash kits, at least not the full kit...just too much. However, using just some of the smaller accent pieces, i.e. door/vent surrounds, looks ok if used sparingly.
Well, I have to agree on this one. Most of the interior partial console kits are merely overlay synthetic panels (or, CF) that are adhered with double sided tape, and, look very awkward and noticeably "added on" like a bad toupe.

Eek! Wood (simulated, no less) in a C5?! No thanks! It's fine (and REAL) in a 1970 TR6, but not in a modern day sports car. I'd save the wood for a Range Rover.
I'm not much for any stick-on kits -- but I believe that there's a vendor selling actual molded CF kits (I believe it REPLACES your interior plastic pieces). I think one of those would be pretty cool. But, again, I'd vote against the idea of a wood look.
I have a shale/neutral interior. I put in the molded real burlwood dash kit. IMO it looks awesome. I don't think the wood kit would look kit in any other color interior (e.g. black).

Got any pictures? I'd like to see it. I tend to generally like wood dash kits in certain vehicles, but haven't seen any installed on C5's and can't mentally picture how it might look.

I put the real wood molded burlwood in my Suburban a few years ago and still like it. It broke up acres of nothing but gray. I don't care for dash kits in Vettes though.
