PLEASSSSEEE be sure you go to a place that knows what they're doing. I had my GT Factory kit installed last March by a bunch of nitwits and it closed like crap...fiberglass hitting metal @ the door locks and a HUGE gap between the door and the fender when they were closed....I also had water leaking problems....I finally found someone else's car locally that had the same kit installed PERFECTLY. I had this guy re-install my set and they came out beautifully. I am still in the process of having fiberglass work done to close up the gaps and fix the cracked areas around the locks. I had to SUE the original installers because they didn't believe they did anything wrong (I won)

If I had to do it again, I absolutely would not....it looks sweet, but for me it was not worth the aggrevation and time.....you should be OK if you happen to find someone who knows what they're doing in the first place. GOOD LUCK!

anyone with these installed having problems with them "being flimsy" when open? and what is the story on closing them, problems? Or is this JUST the result from poor install?

As long as the hinges are solidly mounted and flush all the way aroudn they will not be flimsy or close improperly...at least with the GT Factory's

Yes, it's the SpecterWerks C5-R. They look cool from afar, but far from good up close.

Fitment and quality on them also suck eggs.

Great advice of course and I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. The place I found seems fine. I see thier work and have talked with the owner who is very proud that he worked on the Bricklin car...I've seen his photos in his office. I feel comfortable he will do a good job. He even told me he was very happy to be involved with my project. I take it to him Monday...I'll keep you all posted.

Good news Fellas the driver's side is installed and works just great. A little more adjusting of the stops and on to the passenger side. It should be done tomorrow.

Thanks for keeping us posted! Hope it turns out really good for you.

So are you using actual lambo hinges or the GT kit?

If you wouldn't mind sharing, how much will your total outlay end up being?

Default Still working them...

The job, GT Factory Diablo Kit, began this past Monday and continues still today. I have no way of knowing if the technician is working on just my car all day or not. If he is and it costs $75/hr well you do the math I do stop by every afternoon and when I do he is working on it. Now let me say this about that, they are maticulas about thier work. I appreciate that very much as anybody should. However it is a learning experience for them and I shouldn't have to pay for that in and of itself. So we will have to talk when it is completed. This shop is also going to continue with the Tiger Shark project as well. We talked about this cost but will still have a long talk about the final costs when completed.

I found another company at www.lsd-doors.com. They don't have a vette kit yet. I'm going to keep on them until they make one. Their kit looks to be safer for shutting doors properly and they can be opened up or straight out.
