It was 2:05 pm yesterday when she called and said, I can deliver your car today, if you want. I was thrilled. A few hours later she pulled into my driveway. I got the title and she got a big check. Now my new baby is in the garage.
This is my first Vette, and my first Convertible. I can't wait for a warm day.
The specs: 2000 Chevy Corvette Convertible. Torch Red with black top and black interior. 6 Speed Tranny (I LOVE IT) Memory package, HUD, Telescopic Column, 27,190 miles. One owner prior to me. The car also came with a spare set of lightly used OEM tires.
Now for my first of what will probably be several stupid newbie questions. Is there anything wrong with leaving it garaged for weeks at a time with the top down?
Black top is probably not as big of a deal ... but you will get creases in the fabric from leaving it folded in the down position for extended periods.
Congrats on the new ride ... you'll have lots of fun with it
Congrats on the convertible. I remember waiting for a non-rainy day to drive mine with the top down.
I leave mine at times with the top down in the garage, but typically never for more then a week or so at a time. I just figure it's good to move all the joints on the top every now and then.
welcome to the forum I have an 01 vert and prefer to leave the top up, You will see many different opinions on this but I feel it's the best way, for one the car stays much cleaner inside and I think it's better to keep the material stretched out, also put some stabil in the fuel if your not going to use it for a month or more. Good luck
Hey, nice Vette... I'm sure I've seen one similar in my garage a time or two...
I've done both, left the top up all winter but at times have left it down for weeks at a time during the summer... It works either way but the fabric does leave creases no matter what...
I try to cover the whole thing with a car cover as long as it has been freshly washed. HOWEVER, using a simple old bedsheet to cover the top area itself is a good thing to keep all the lint off of the top from the flannel covered underside of the carcover.

I leave my top down alot in the summer.
It the winter months i dont get to drive it every week so the top stays up most of the time.
