3. Partition, there is a major sale from one vendor right now. It works very well.
4. Not sure
5. A bit faster unless you're trying to remove the top. Assuming stock of course.
6. Not so much with the 02 - 04 models. Column lock was a problem, but I've seen no complaints with the 04 models. Some don't like the automatic shift from 1st to 4th in slow traffic, but I think many get used to it. Some members complain about pain from the permanent grins one has while driving.
Good luck

Z's are awesome do eveything cars. They are way more comfy than people think, and can make a treck from BG to NC non stop
Ask me how I know that
GO for it as the C5 Z06 is an even better deal now with the C6 out and the new C6 Z roaming around (just bring lots of HP if you want to hang with one).Dave
Regarding the brakes, high temp brake fluid seems like a good idea. I ran AP Lockheed Ultra DOT 5.1 in my C4. It Exceeds specification S.A.E. J1703 with a dry boiling point of 270C/wet 186C. ABS compatible too. The partition will be a must. I’ll have to check into the Dyno-mat mentioned. I’ll start with the FAQs section. Thanks for the input.
2) No, Z06 wheels are bigger and lighter and are designed to withstand higher loads for longer periods of time.
3) WARNING: reducing cabin noise adds weight. Adding weight lowers performance. That said, the vette tray partition is a cool way to reduce noise and add utility.
4) Yes. However, you will probably want to use a higher temp. brake fluid for competition. NOTE: you will eat up the stock brake pads at a pretty fast pace.
5) Turn this question around. The C6 Coupe with the Z51 option comes close to the performance of a Z06, close enough that driver skill becomes a major factor in who wins.
6) The Z06 is a Corvette. I shares the same major issues shared by all Corvettes, as examples: the column lock issue and leaking differential issues. There has to be a faq on it somewhere on this site.
Testimonial: my Z06 was love at first sight, NCM delivery on June 1, 2001, we've been together ever since.
In the end, there can be only one...
and the one is Corvette Z06, the legend lives.
