Default How many actually run Road Courses?

When I was participating in a local Corvette club I tried to get members to run at the track but no takers. So I am curious as to the % of Forum Memers who actually run on Road Courses. (Not dragstrip please.)

It is, try it once and you will be hooked. You should come join us at a Safemotorsports event sometime, you can do ride alongs with us to see if you'll like it for $30. You'll be driving soon I wager. We run at Homestead, Moroso and Sebring. There's an event at Moroso on 1/29 though I won't be making that one. Safe is a great group of guys out to have fun.

I hope to this year. I've always run into the dilemma of not enough vacation time to really make a go of it. The closest two tracks for me are New Hampshire and Lime Rock and the track days are always weekdays. I pick up an extra week this year and plan to at least try one run at each.

I've done them, but not in the vette - yet. Absolute blast. And you get to meet a lot of good car guys, too. In the DC area Summit Point Raceway has a thing called Friday's at the Track... well worth the time and money.

Not with my vert----no roll hoop, and never will mount one inside 2EZ.

IMO----Proper cars for Road Courses DON'T have fenders.

I have done one and plan to do a few more as time allows. Talk about a humbling experience. If you think you can drive, you may walk away with a new view of your driving skills after your first track day; I know I did.

Boy do I remeber my first time. :o Every time I looked in the mirror in the twisties somebody was climbing up my butt. I watched a young guy in a stock Ford Probe out-drive two C5's. But it does make you appreciate what it takes to really drive your Vette. Every time at the track, I learn more. The good thing is that I have found the weakest link...ME !

My luck the admission entry price would be the ticket to the bodyshop or worse.
