My partner bought a 05 500 sl for $92,000. It is nice but it definately has its problems also. twice he has replaced the seat adjuster because when you get out of the car your heal hits it. $125 a pop. For the short while i have owned this car I feel it is comperable to his. take off 20 grand for the hard top and upgraded interior and i guess 30 grand for the performance and american made.

Maybe the interior could have been a little more sinister. But then again, we bitch too much.

My Z06 is my first Covette and I think it is just perfect ( well 90% is a good rating) Can't beat the basic car for performance and especially as a head turner. To me is reminds me of Sophia Loren with all the right curves in the right places and just gorgeous all over. They have left enough variances in the car so that you can spend very little and refine it to your personal liking and still have the same basic showroom car that you bought. I use it as a track car and vacation trips and I enjoy just listening to the wind noise, tire noise, and the waves from the other owners. Heck I even got a wave from a 911 (maybe he also have a Vette)

Life is good. Now if I can only put the C5 body on the C6 mechanicals.......

I think a lot of these problems they seem to have addressed in the C6. That is good. It means they are trying to make the customer happy and produce a good car. This was not a bit#$ session, just a look at what could have been better. Its not monday morning quarterbacking. In order to make a product better you have to look at its shortcomings. The C5 is an incredible buy for the money. Of course Vettes have always been a lot of bang for the buck. As long as they keep improving with each model year I think the Vette will be around for a long time.

According to my sources they usually go with the cheapest bid, not the top notch quality.
