Engine Temp running hotter than normal ??
It caught my eye the other day....the engine temp was sitting at 240....I read a few articles indicating that 240 is not out of the norm. The problem is that I could swear it was never that high, and it seems as though the fan comes more than usual and is in a battle just to keep the temp at bay. The air temp is 55, and even very short trips get it up to 240. Is the thermostat going bad? Any advice or suggestions would be appretiated. I have checked under the front...no bags or debris on the front of the radiator. Thaxs-Jeff

how many miles on it, auto/manual, what year?
P.S. consider updating your profile with some info and maybe location with car year info like mine

Check for debris clogging the radiator - these cars are regular Hoovers when it comes to picking up trash.

Check that then check your fluid... Could be your Thermostat sticking but highly unlikely.

after you check for junk and road clagg up in your radiators take a high pressure air hose and blow out the dirt and sand that gets in there too.
