It's a big day for me. In 15 minutes my son and I start to drive 3.5 hours and 200 miles to Puyallup, WA to pick up my 02 mag red coupe! The weather forecast is for partly sunny/cloudy weather but no definite rain, so it's a GO for this operation today Pretty exciting, and to top it off, it is Super Bowl Sunday AND my 29th wedding anniversary!!
Just hoping the C5 I've chosen is mechanically sound and reliable. It's a beaut. Okay, gotta go. Will follow soon with obligatory pics! In about 8 hours, I should be home with the C5! Jon

Congratulations. I hope the car is better than expected. Enjoy the ride home and don't be in too big a rush back. Stop at a restaurant and stare at your new ride through the window. The nice thing is this time that beauty outside will be yours.
I remember my 60 mile ride back from picking up our newly purchased '98 Corvette in Champaign, IL... Couldn't wipe the grin off my face the whole way.
Just want to take this Sunday afternoon to say THANKS all you guys and gals on this forum. You've added so much to my enjoyment of this specatuclar sports car.
Just made it home, still kinda shaking from the excitement of it all. Got home just before 2PM, and we left home at 6AM, so it took us 8 hours round trip. Weather was damp going up and I thought it would make a mess of the car coming home, but it got sunny and by the time we hit the same wet stretches on the way home, it was all good and dry except the shoulders! Very fun ride home. I don't know how to operate anything except the wiper, lights and seats!
SO I DO HAVE A QUESTION, dang it. I notice after I get home that there is like a slight grinding noise in first gear for a few seconds. After getting a little speed, it stops. What is that - do I have a problem with a worn first gear, or poor meshing? The car has just 6,500 miles, MN6 of course. I hope you tell me it is normal, like that normal sound of the marbles in a can for the clutch throwout bearing. Yikes, maybe this is what is making me shake too. Post up and calm me down fast, PLEASE! Jon
