Did one 3000 mile trip and several 1100 mile ones with 04a4, cruise set between 75-85 and never got less then 30 with the 3:15s. Now with all the mods and 3:42s milage is 24-25. This is based on fill ups, not computor.
Anyone else average over 30mpg with a constant 85mph+ for that distance
I do 600 mile round trips from Augusta to JAcksonville, FL and back all the time and get around 30+MPG. Gotta keep it between 80-85,though. Plus, anything faster and the LEO's make you slow down by taking your Mod-Money.
Have an LPE 383 in mine and I get the following:
70 (cruise on) 31.4 DIC w/ calculator 31.5
65 (cruise on) 30.2 DIC w/ calculator 30.3
60 (cruise on) 28.7 DIC w/ calculator 28.8
80 (cruise on) 27.8 DIC w/ calculator 27.9
Checked on the DIC and by calculations. DIC is always off about .01 or so on the shy side.
Using just my foot (poor).
Love that car. eat your heart out Toyota.
Thought I'd get my best at 65 to 70, but 70 - 73 is about the best.
I have never got over 25 with my a4 with 3:15 gears so i not sure how evryone is getting 30 are over must just be my car it has new plugs, wires, seafomed top end, 50 coats of wax so it is slick and slides thru the air without any drag so i still must be doing something wrong.
You can get bad fuel economy if your MAF sensor is dirty. Just a thought.

All best,
Joe
I will check the MAF sensor out again and see if it is dirty but i dont think it is because i just took the vr2b off and put on a Blackwing so maybe my MPG will come up a little now after i drive it a few more miles but if it dont i will look else where to see if there is a problem but i think it might be because i drive with the top down 90% of the time and that may have something to do with it also.
