Why are they so over the top here? $196 fine. Thats why! Don't kid yourself, this is another TAX. Needless to say, I now have a front license plate and I suggest you do too if you come here.
WOW realestate isn't the only thing more expensive on the west coast $196.00 I'll pay my $45.00 and stay here.

I wouldn't put one on my Z06, that's for sure. A law or not in all states, no front license plate, may give a cop probable cause to pull you over.
I haven't been pulled over on my Z06 yet, but in my Z28 I have twice, both times by State Troopers.

I have threatened to put the cover on (during road trips) once I leave this great state of Nebraska because I figure a cop in another state wouldn't have the right to pull me over...

Am I wrong in that thinking?

Never. The dealer I bought the car from refused to put them on, too.

I carry the front plate behind the passenger seat, along with some suction cups. If I am ever made to affix the plate, I can do so in the windshield.

I've been stopped twice by state police, but given warnings both times when they saw I had the plate.

I'm doing the Tiger Shark mod. Can you see that with a front plate.

I've never been stopped for not having a front license plate. As a retired police officer, I think they're pretty useless. There are some who would say that we need two license plates for identification purposes, but I don't buy it. Give me one license plate that will last several years as compared to two cheap ones.

I do it every once in a while, especially during a cruise, but for the most part I leave my front on with the clear bubbled cover on it which still leaves the clean lines. Is it worth the ticket? Probably not. Will you get stopped? Probably not. I just hate when people post a thread on the Forum complaining about the men in uniform doing their job....i.e. "He stopped me for only doing 7 over.....he stopped me for no front license plate" Take your chances, and if you get caught, suck it up!

Just get a personalized license plate and put them both on.
It is not worth the anxiety everytime you pass a policeman, or the $200 fine in Texas.

I've benn pulled over and fined for no front plate. I don't care, I even put the black letters on the front plate (car is T.R.)
