What length would you suggest for an enclosed car trailer to haul a C5? Looking at a slope nose model at Trailer World in Bowling Green. I don't need much storage, just enough room for the vette.
24 foot is the minimum. You might get by with a 22 foot. but a 20 foot is too small as you need room for tie downs as they stick beyond the car.
Front tie downs, 3 feet infront of the vette, and rear tie downs 2 feet behind the vette.
the other reason for a 24 foot is you can ballance the car over the axles vs a 20 foot the car is too far forward of the axles and you have way too much tounge weight on your tow vehical.
Shorter trailers also may not have the load capsity for a 3200 lbs vette
the trailer tires also may not have the load capasity of the trailer plus the vette. need at least 7500 lbs minimum more like 9000 lbs.
The other questions is what is your tow vehical??

This is very true. You can NOT open the drivers door of your car. You must crawl out the drivers window. Even trailers with door on the side, you still can not open the vettes drivers door, it bumps the trailer wheel wells inside. Most trailers there is only 2-3 inch clearance on each side of the vette and the trailers inside wheel wells.

That is an easy fix. I used 2x12x20 on both sides that will get the doors up high enough even with a lowered car to get over the wheel wells. Get a trailer with a side door and this will not be a problem.
As far as length and weight Hallmark has a 20' 22' and a 24' that can take 12K weigh more than you will ever need. I think 20' is a little small but 22' is fine as is 24'

No, not broke! I am retiring this spring and we plan on traveling to places such as Arizona for a month or so and I would like to take the vette along !
I've had more than a few enclosed trailers and I'll give my thoughts. I've had a 24 ft Trailer World flat top, a 26 foot haulmark, and a 28 ft Pace Shadow. All 8 1/2 ft wide models. Hands down the Pace was by far the best towing vehicle. It also allowed the car to sit wayyyyy back on the dove tail which gave a tremendous amount of room up front. Compared to the haulmark which was 2 feet shorter, the pace actually had 4 ft more room up front. With both the trailer world 24 and the haulmark 26, you had to use a distribution hitch with sway bars attached. With the Pace, you hooked it up, loaded it, told the wife to drive, and to wake you up when you were there. The deck of the Pace was also higher, making the inside fenders shorter.

Well swing by Tucson and give me a shout..........just make sure you get here before June ........usually the heat starts to set in around then. I am looking to take my Vette back to Penna for the summer......I was also thinking of towing it but I can't afford your kind of setup, which is just beautiful.
If you think the trailer is nice, you should see the car, go to the Chicago Chevy Vette Fest and see the car and his display first hand, it is gorgeous.
