B&M part # 45057 is the ticket, I just installed it a bit ago and it kicks big ***, its almost the same hight as the stock one so what I did to get it even shorter is cut a bit of the top and left just a little bit of thread just enough for the *** to screw on, its the best cant beat B&M short throw shifters
What is the height of the new Z06 shifter compared to the C5Z shifter when installed in a C5Z? I really liked the sound of that B&M sport shifter which is supposed to be smooth and quiet, but not if its almsot the same height as the stocker. I definitely want a shorter throw and look. Also, how much does the C6Z shifter cause and is it plug-n-play to put in a C5Z?
IMO, the spring shifters are for drag racers. They make it next to impossible to screw up upshifting. In that way they're awesome.
It's just for me, in daily driving, and canyon carving where I actually shift down 4-3-2, the stiff springs get's old pretty quick.
Maybe I'm a big wimp but my sholder ligaments are starting to bother me from fighting the springs in my BPP shifter. I'm going to just take them out completely...Now most of these shifters come with lighter guage springs, so I guess there are options.
I like the stock shifter on how easy it is to shift, is there an aftermarket shifter thats not super stiff. i felt the hurst way to stiff for me, any suggestions?
I am one of those people who came from an F-Body (Camaro SS) platform and did not have an issue with the stock C5 shifter; so put off the conversion for 2 years but once done I can't believe the difference and wish it had been my first mod. I use the Hurst with the factory (as shipped) springs. Night & day difference.
My shifter came from Corvette Concepts in Florida. It has a shorter shift and maintains the smooth factory feel. I also had a Hurst in my Firehawk and loved it. There are a lot of nice shifters available, I don't think you can go wrong.

I don't get that...you pay $180 for them to send you a stock shifter thats simply been cut down and includes a billet ****, and you have to ship them your stock shifter. They take it, cut it down, throw in a **** and make another $180. Isn't there a way to just cut your own and save the $180 and the hassle of taking yours out, shipping it and installing the new one? I'd imagine the re-threading might be a tad tricky though...
