any shop that does high end work should be able to handle it.
c5 kidd is going to try and do consoles for people also.
Any links or info? I've takeled just about everything.. I should be able to handle a project like this, with the right info and feedback. Otherwise I could end up having a great peice that cracks 3 weeks later. You know what I mean?

i just printed off every picture i could find of a d1 or car pc install and took it into my guy. if you go to a shop, ask to see pictures of their fiberglass work. if they are good at that, then they can handle something simple like a audio surround. if yours is like mine where they used bondo and fiberglass, i doubt that it will crack. that part of mine seems stronger than the rest of the gm part.
check the audio section out, theres a ton of write ups on it.
Here is what I have in my Z06. I wanted DVD ability, but not a slide out screen:
Now, I don't have a removable top, so I could mount the LCD monitor right into the headliner. Here is a link to the rest of the pictures in my album with my stereo. http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...der_id=1484488
here is mine (well version one....versioin two/three is in progress):
and hopefully this will be up in running in the next month or so:
It's not the run of the mill radio, it's a computer. If you are interested in going this route there is more info in the link in my sig.
the how-to is in the c5 audio faq in the audio section. its really a very easy mod, just time consuming. with the abs sludge technique that i mention you will not have to worry about the final product cracking, it actually chemically bonds the lowered divider bar...you'd have to have at it with a hammer to crack it
