Vettes and vette people are special. Its in you blood. My only regret is waiting so long to get one. Hope you can get one at a young age and enjoy it. Good luck. By the way, this forum is really the best place for information on Vettes. Read it daily.
Middle aged crazy.............yeah, that's it.

hey guys thanks for all your pep talk! ill keep at it!
i was at work today and a few of my friends think i am absolutely insane. they dont understand why i want a vette. my friend says "you are gonna have a car payment for life!" and i told him he will too. my friends know my car buying habits and i dont impulse shop. i do my homework again and again. i may have not done my homework in high school but dammit, i do it now LOL!! i know what i am getting myself into and what i am doing. the hard part for me is to keep a car for a long time. i feel deep down in my heart that if i own a vette, i will keep it a long time. the only way i will get rid of it is to get another one. i just feel strong about it. i have never felt that way about a car before LOL!
now concerning my girl, she never told me why i should keep my expedition. she just threw attitude at me "getting a vette is a stupid idea. i cant believe u are doing it". obviously that isnt very helpful. if she is against it then fine..at least tell me why and get on with it. i dont know what she is complaining about, she has a 2001 mustang GT that she likes.
i know how u older guys feel about your vettes and why u didnt do it sooner. well, i guess u can say i am learning from your mistakes!
some of my friends at work were supportive of my efforts and understood. i told them every single bit of information i knew and it threw the stereotypical vette out of their minds. i told them everything ranging from trade value, residual, ownership, styling, and fuel mileage. they still dont believe me on the gas mileage. oh well! i guess my intention is to make them jealous now? (not on purpose). i like to have the nicer things in life and i dont like to just get by. i have the opportunity to live my life to the fullest without kids and a wife. im taking it!

When you get one its like a drug addiction - can't get enough. I currently have a company car during the week and I typically can't wait for Corvette Friday (as I call it) to come. Have been considering taking another job without a company car which would be a bum me out as far as not keeping the miles down and driving in all-weather, but at the same time I would be smiling everyday.

I waited 21 years for my first vette and in all honesty it was 20 and 1/2 years too many I don't care what they call it (American icon, pure euphoria, etc.) I have never owned a car that I can't wait to drive and want to take care of like my vette And I don't know how those cold winter states go for months without driving it That would drive me freakin nuts

She's crazy. My wife (korean) almost flipped when she heard I wasn't buying a KIA . Now she keeps trying to make excuses to drive the vette and make me take the min van to work . Looks like she wants me to buy her a C4 now.
