I have an 02 vert which is in hibernation right now. Unfortunately I did not put a battery tender on it and I am certain my battery has long since died. The storage facility doesnt let me get in and out too easily so I cant just check on it. Anyway, a friend of mine (who has an 04 coupe) told me today that he thinks my factory security system will need to be re-programmed by the dealership before I will even be able to drive the car again. In other words, he says jumping the battery wont allow me to drive my precious vette home cause the security system will shut down the car. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this, or is he just off his rocker? The Chevy Dealer thought I wouldnt have any problems after charging the battery when I asked them today but I'd rather hear what you all think. Thanks.
I also have an 04 coupe but am not aware of those type problems. Even though your key remote may not work, you could still get in the car by just using the key and then pop the hood. Hopefully, the battery will take the quick charge and not give you any problems. Let us know how it turns out.

I have a 98 and store it for the winter. It sits for 6 months with the battery disconnected, and for the 4 years I've had the car I've never had a problem in the spring. I just reconnect the negative battery cable and turn the key and drive away.
If you didn't unhook the battery it's probably died. A quick recharge should do it. If it's an AC Delco it may not take kindly to a full discharge. When they start to give problems, they are big problems. May want to invest in a new battery now and cut the hassle.
The only thing I can think of is if you have a stock radio it'll need to be unlocked:
