Dumb Question
Ok this is probably a dumb question to ask but im gonna ask anyway. I have a 00 Camaro and I am thinking about selling it and gettin a C5. My question is how much lower does a C5 sit that a 00 Camaro. I also have a C3. both the c3 and camaro scrape on my driveway not bad though. the c3 just the fiberglass airdam scrapes a little and the camaro is the same way. So does a C5 sit lower or about the same as a Camaro. Sorry for such a dumb question but hey i fiqured it did not hurt to ask. thanks in advance

if you are scraping now with the camaro, you WILL scrape with a c5. the good thing is that the only thing you are scraping is the air dam. Its black, you can barely see it, its on springs, so if you do scrape it has some give to it. The scraping sounds worse than it is. Also if you are hitting the bumper bars in front of the air dam, you can buy wheels for the bars to keep from crushing them under the vettes weight.

my vette is lower than my 99 camaro (OK, its lowered all the way) but A stock height vette IS lower! no biggy just cant get any front bumper mods

My C5 (stock height) has about 4.5" of clearance in the front. Hope that helps.

I put wheels on my "scrape bars". Didn't need them after I put a concrete transition at bottom of drive. It helps to enter drive at an angle too. The C5 front airdam is spring loaded, it is also relatively cheap to replace ($35).

Just measured the Camaro air dam and, at 4", it's exactly the same ground clearance as the Vert. Both scrape on my driveway.
The main risk of grounding is the rocker rails which are lower on the Vert. Overall the car sits about an inch all round lower than the Camaro.

I own both, and haven't had a problem with the Vette that I didn't have with the Camaro. I know there will be instances, but I just haven't come across one yet... yet.
