regular has been $2.39 here for weeks.
I sure hope that we don't see $.30 on top of that.

Northwest Indiana went to $2.53 today, the news media said yesterday to expect higher prices, so naturaly the oil companies obliged them. Remember last year when the dam media said over $3.00 by summer, it happened.

In Michigan ours jumped up today to $2.59/gal for regular. Got the price up just in time for me to get my vette out from winter storage.

If it jumped $.30, that means you were paying $1.99, which was way low compared to most other places. Now, you're up to speed with the rest of us .

The only thing I can figure is it's going up for spring break. Oil price only supports about $2.00 based on recent history. Prices here go up .02-.03 a day, and most places are at $2.29 or higher.

Rant ON:
Not only that, but I heard there was going to be a grasshopper invasion in Egypt sometime......all the futures traders panicked over this potential threatening news and the traded price of crude went up by more than a buck a barrel (even though it really wouldn't affect oil production...at least it sounded good).
These damned morons jack the price of oil over the stupidest things....and they don't even USE the oil or ever get to see it....they just buy it and resell it at a profit.
If there is no increased profit margin in sight, they invent another "potential threat to oil production" as a perceived fear, so they CAN raised the price oil sells at.
Then there are the refineries. No one cares to talk about the refinery problem, do they? The oil companies have conspired to cause an artificial oil shortage by way of limited refining capacity, so as to have yet ANOTHER reason to jack the price at the pump even higher.
And whatever price they end up with to line their pockets and the pockets of all the shareholders, we will pay. We always have....we always will.
Rant OFF
