I was driving to meet my brother for lunch obeying the speed limit enjoying the tune of my LG pro long tube headers and corsa indys when I hear my radar detector go crazy behind me on a k band, so I look in my mirror to see a cop really far behind me start to speed up rapidly towards me in my lane. So I thought I would get out of his way because he looks to be in a hurry, so I pull over two lanes into the slow lane and then the cop pulls right behind me in the same lane. So now im thinking great im going to get pulled over, now I havent done anything wrong but im a younger vette driver and every time I get pulled over I get harassed with the same questions of whos car is this, how do you afford a car like this, and my favorite who are you trying to impress because im not impressed. So I really didn’t want to deal with it. So I stop at a red light and I can see him running my plates so the light turns green the car in front of me begins to go, so I decide to turn right to shake him, I put my blinker on and see that his isn’t on so I think great hes going straight but no, he turns to follow me, sticking right close behind me, so at this point im kind of pissed so I decide to pull over and see what he wants in a college parking lot and when I pulled into the lot he just left. My question is why go through all that trouble and just leave, I was perplexed so took another way back on the highway and got some lunch at Skyway chili and it was delicious.
It's called intimidation... It's done all the time around here... Live with it... the less you let it bug you, the better you'll be able to deal with it... Relax... Drive on without letting them bug you.. They are just waiting for you to screw up... At the same time, I know it's a PITA...
I get the exact same thing. Always scared i'm gonna get pulled over for no front plate, too low, too loud, window tint or just being 27 and driving a Z06. I always get asked what does your father know your driving his car, i'm like well i never drive his truck. Then they ask who's is it. And all that stuff. Then they say well its a nice car be safe. Just to harrass i guess.
I love when people at lights want to be smart asses and ask me is that your daddies car, and I say no my dad drives a Ferrari, he doesn’t but they don’t know that. Then they normally just shut up.
your lucky... young + vette is instant ticket here

"I got my Lg pro motorsport longtube headers without cats installed on top of my corsa indys, and it is music to my ears, it makes my corsas sound a bit more muscular and much louder, its so loud when I get on it, it breaks windows and makes little children cry"
Shouldn't be that way....guess timing is everything....temp pushed 60 last weekend (upstate NY) and the motorcycles were thick as flies on a screen door, so were cops. I had one do a turn/follow approach on me too; and I'm old. Remember what your driving & enjoy.

You beat me to it. Took the words right outta my mouth.
Umm... I fully feel your pain, but you guys cruise around in an attention-grabbing sports car with loud exhausts, probably illegally tinted windows, maybe no front plate and you make erratic turns to "shake" the cops and you wonder why the police are following you?
I think the youth factor has something to do with it, too, but it's not what you think.
he may be just running your plates due to your loud exhaust system, or a car mathing your vehicle's description may have been stolen in the area, or he may just admire your car. I do not think it is an act of intimidation.
Well I would say he was running your plate for a stolen vehicle check as you are young and it`s unusual to see a young person in a Vette. Once the check came back OK he left. Or, like me he likes Vettes and wanted to see your`s. I have done this many times to take a look at someones car. KIlls two birds with one stone, I get to see a nice car and make sure it`s not stolen . Good Police work if you ask me. I am not getting on you here in any way, i mostly stay out of the cop threads as all they do is stir the pot, but if it was your vette that just got stolen and the cop checked it out, you would be praising him now. OK I`m outta here
