And then you'll be posting on the Honda Forum about how one day you were just driving along doing the speed limit on the way to meet your brother for lunch and this cop .. ... .... ..... ......

Well, I don't think being extremely aggressive towards a fellow forum member is very becoming for any of us, let alone a LEO member. I think Steel has the right to say whatever he wants on this board, as long as it is civil and not insulting, without being antagonized by other members.
I don't think he has said anything agressive towards the police dept...I think he has comunicated a personal experience to us, and has done it in a civil tone. I don't see any harm in the way he put it.
I don't think he needs to walk on egg shells around here, feeling like he needs to be uncomfortable every time he wants to say something that some other member doesn't agree with, just because that member disagrees with his ideas or feelings. I also don't believe this forum agrees with making insulting and condesending remarks towards another forum member just because that member doesn't follow that line of thinking...and I do know the constitution does allow for freedom of speech here and elsewhere.
I've never heard so much pissin' and moaning in my entire life...from both sides.

Having said that...I have been followed on occasion by a patrol car, although not very often, and it does kind of make you have guilty feelings, which does make you feel kinda nervous. Sooooo?
It's probably my extreme mods...H/C, headers, no cats, loud exhausts, and no front license plate that is making me nervous. In fact I know it is. Soooo what? That's the price I decided to pay when I modded up and wanted to drive on the street.
I know that any officer can cause me some real grief over this, and it makes me kinda nervous when I'm in close proximity to a squad car. You know what though, even when I am pulled over, which is rare, they never bother me about my mods or pipes('course I always turn the car off so it's not *in their face*). I have passed probably hundreds of patrol cars on the highway and on the streets, and never have they harrassed me for no front license plate. You know what? I think they like Corvettes, and respect that our cars don't look too good with the front plate on...and usually leave us alone. They're not blind, so this is my feeling on it. I really appreciate the cops on this board for sharing our enthusiasim for Corvettes, and always get a good feeling when I pass one that's looking straight at my front plate area. and just keeps on going. Great bunch of regular guys for the most part. Not sucking up(they don't know me and I have no cop friends), just really mean it.

I have only been pulled over once or twice since I bought my Vette new in 2001, and one was for a just reason(I was speeding), and the other was legitimate(expired inspection sticker).

I don't know about other states or cities(I've heard bad things about Calif. and some others, even from cop members), but here in my area, I have to tell ya, the cops are just amazing for the most part...the coolest ever. Now, maybe I just haven't run into the bad apples in that bunch yet, but if we're going by past experiences these guys down here are WAYYY cool.
I have a bad habit of going 5 over all the time, and I have passed numerous cops in several speed zones doing it, without one single episode of being pulled over.

I did have a cop pull behind me, after I parked at a convenience store once while I was inside. When I came out he was blocking me off. As I approached my car, he got out and said, "Sir I'm afraid I can't let you take that car." I said, "Ohhh...and why would that be?" He laughed and said, "Because I want it! That is the coolest car ever! Is it fast?" I just laughed and said, "Not around here it isn't!" He laughed again, and told me to be careful and have a good night.

That's not my .02...that's my dollar's worth.
