Open Parachute!!
Boy, did I feel like a dunce this morning. I put the top up to drive my son to school, but got distracted and forgot to latch the top. I pull out onto the main road and WHUMP! The top flies open. I was able to grab it with my right hand and pull it back down and we got it latched without stopping, but man, I HATE when that happens!! If I was a coupe owner, my lid would have been sailing in the air. I've never attached this emoticon to my own message before, but this seems like a good time.

Been There and Done that!
Be glad you caught it, and I caught mine at about 30MPH and dam near tore my arm off! I have heard of some who did not catch it and it really bent up the frame bad enough to have to be replaced!

very nice. I have done that a few times myself. I had a '03 Cobra vert. before, and I did not have to get out of the car to put the top up, so it took some getting used to! BTW

Hey Jeff
Don't feel so bad. I beat you to it by about a year :o
And they say there's no Flying Roof Club for the Vert!
I actually know someone who did this with a coupe on the New Orleans causeway. The top slid to a stop with scratches and was still servicable. Don't ask me how it didn't go into the water.

When I posted this morning, I was expecting to get dumped on for being so absent-minded. Instead, I received a lot of kindness and understanding. I guess you knew I already beat myself up for the gaffe. So thanks. You guys are the best.

I've always worried about doing the same thing. If you feel like you missed out on getting dumped on, I can link this to OT for you. They'll hook you up for sure.
