My .02 worth. Oil changing is kinda like insurance. Why would you spend $ 40k on a car that we all love and skimp on such a small maintenance issue.
The condition of your engine, how you run it, and the biggest concern is the number of miles. A new engine with little or no wear can probably get by on 7,500 mile oil changes. But as an engine accumulates miles, blowby increases. This dumps more unburned fuel into the crankcase which dilutes the oil. This causes the oil to break down. So if the oil isn't changed often enough, you can end up with accelerated wear and all the engine problems that come with it (loss of performance and fuel economy, and increased emissions and oil consumption).
To play the Devil's enemy here. When you go to buy that used Vette, would you want one that is three years old, with 20k miles, yet the current owner tells you he has only changed oil 1 time in past two years?

Hi Vetters,
Thanks for all the comments on changing my oil, **** and otherwise. Believe it or not I am just as **** as you all are about my girl, but I also have some common sense.
At any rate, she will get her oil changed every spring when I break her out from under the tarp in the garage.
Thanks again. I had sort of decided on Mobil 1 which she has had previously, as I was told by her former owner. He just said not to use Fram filters.
