HA! That was some funny stuff right there, I don't care who you are!!
At the rate America's losing domestic manufacturing business, ALL tires will be made overseas or south of the border very soon. Sad but true state of affairs.
Funny videos! I replaced the runfarts on my 99 vert last year with GS-D3's and could not be happier. I hope they were also made in the plant in Oklahoma. Supporting my home state and country at the same time.
Only regret is I should have replaced the pressure sensors also!
I dunno---my GY runflats have 18k miles on them and they look new. Maybe they don't hold up if used for racing, etc... I'll gladly have the security of my runflats vs. a little road noise. To each his own, I guess.
realistically, how many times have you HAD a flat tire? I have had maybe 5 in 25 years of driving. when the runflats are done, I'm going to go to a good set of non runflats and risk it
I'm sticking with my Goodyear runflats too. I have been a Goodyear fan all my life anyhow.
Yes, they, and the whole car in fact, is a lot noisier than what I am used to in my Audi A6, but a heck of a lot quieter than my street legal Jeep CJ-7 rockcrawler with 38.5" bias-belted Super Swamper TSL's.
As far as handling, I'm sure there may be better handling tires out there, but these will do anything I need them to do. I'll put up with the noise, ride, and handling for the security. And then I just finished reading about those "other runflats" that you throw away if you get any kind of puncture in them.
