have had a windshield bird strike but not in the vette; it's a real attention-getter! once in our topless jeep (before the current vette) we had a bird whack the passenger windshield post---glad it wasn't my head! bub

Glad all the bird did was bounce off the windshield.

Default Bird Strike

I know the feeling. I was driving on the Autobahn in excess of 125 MPH and a bird hit the to of the windshield right in front of me. Made a sound like a shotgun going off and I had about a 6" crack in the windshield. Scared the bejeezus out of me!

Damn I miss drivin the autobahn!

Had one come in through the open driver's side window and plaster himself to the INSIDE of the rear window. Cleanup was real hoot.

Chickens can fly - just not very high and not very long. Clearly this one only made it to about windshield height.

I had a good one once. Had a CB antenna on top of my pickup. One of the thin wire ones, not the fat fiberglas ones. Intercepted a flying bird at about 70 MPH. What's the chances of that happening. The antenna must be all of 1/8" thick. Didn't get to see what became of the bird, but I'm betting it had to be cut in half.

I hit a small bird once as well about 3 years ago in my C5 and it did crack my windshield. I was traveling on I-72 here in IL. It scared the crap out of me!! The sound was like someone hitting the car as hard as they could with a baseball bat!

I have the explination. The bird came out of the forest hearing a loud drone noise. He see's an object coming at his way at 80 MPH and says, i better get out of the way. He realizes it's a vette, and says: "I should go in for a closer look at this baby" RIP my ricer-hating bird
