You're right. I'm sure the GM engineers bought the lowering bolts from Honda or Toyota.

yes

i just lowered mine (all the way on stock bolts) and it is pretty much like it was stock. i have yet to scrape anything but the air dam. hell i thinks it needs to be a couple inches lower still. just not on my priorities right now (more power first). i used to drive a prelude (way back when). it was low.

Lowering looks cool, but can you drive it once it’s lowered? I guess it depends on where you live. The Mean Streets of New York would tear up my baby and spit it out. For me lowering will never happen.

I lowered mine a few days after bringing the car home.
My vote would be a Yes.

I plan on lowering. It is just low on my list of priorities. It comes after a new clutch, tune, and rotors. My pockets are only so deep and I emptied them a lot last Saturday when I got my new beast!

Drove to Carlisle, PA from CT and drove right through PA several times. No worries even with the constant roadworks. Same with NJ & NY.

NYC however...

Lowering on the stock bolts is free if you have a wrench...

This is my first C5, and I have had four prior vettes but don't know much about the C5. I am a do-it-myself kind of guy. I do not like to pay anyone to do something that I can do myself. When I do it, i know it's done right, pluse I love working on my cars myself. Given this, how do you lower the C5. I understand, there is no cost to lowering on it's stock bolts, other than an aligniment at a "GOOD SHOP". can someone giive me (lowering on stock bolts instructions). I just had new tires put on and a front end alignment. Do I HAVE to align the front end if I just lower it abou 3/4 inches? Thanks for everyones advise....
