I have no idea why GM lists N73 bronze as the color. I too wasted a touch up pen and my time before learning to use the light sand rift instead. If you get it from your GM dealer, don't tell them it's for the magnesium wheels. They'll insist on selling you N73.
[IMG][/IMG]If you really like them , I have a set for sale. They include working sensors (99) and tires. Tires are GY EMT'S 5/32 front / 3/32/rear. I believe it's the right rear that has a chip or two. Will take pics if interested.
$1000.00 picked up. I'm in eastern Pa. email oodeuce@rcn.com
I also have a set of Firestone EMT'S 6/32 tread $500.00

try dupli color GM 482, light sand drift or dupont WA837K
Thanks for the tip That was going to be one of my next questions! My front passenger looks like it was curbed by the prev. owner and I need to fix it up.
Thanks again!
If you have not run on them, then get a chance, you can immediately feel a much lighter feel on the steering. They seem to glide over small bumps and are great on the twisty track.
Insofar as looks and dings - yeah - they don't look as pretty as a nice set of 5 spoke chromies and they are very unforgiving of curbs (which ones aren't). I think they have a slightly different offset (correct me if wrong), and the inside of the wheel comes precariously close to the calipers on the front. So much so, that when I had mine balanced with stick on weights, the very first rotation and the rotors were scraping them. Had to mount the weights further inside the wheel or go to bang on weights (no way) on the rims.
They look fantastic particularly on Pewter C5's. My only complaint about them, which is not legitimate is that their too small. Those will be worth some coin in the future.
I have raced them all over the country, drag/autox and road race w/o issue
Easy to keep clean too...........just wax
Best place to buy is on e-bay or here........ya gotta be quick though! Expect $200-$250 a wheel.......a bargain in my mind
Plus, you can put MT ET Street Radial in a 275/40/17 on a front and get 1.49 60' at the strip

I love them! I think they look great on the C5 and had them on my 99 Pewter coupe and currently have them on my 2000 Pewter convertible. I agree with the other posters who complained about chipping. Can anyone recommend a touch up paint that actually matches the original finish? I tried the touch up that GM sells and it just doesn't match, much too dark. It's labled "N73 Bronze". I'm sure there is a good color match out there but would like to avoid spending $100.00 buying two dozen little bottles to find it.
I recently curbed one of my rear wheels and am going to change it once I find out where in the north east (I'm in New Jersey) to get it done. I managed to pick up a couple of NOS wheels to use as spares and don't want to have one ruined while being mounted. Any help with either question appreciated. Rich jcmsp062@aol.com
The local Chevy dealer gave me a paint number of WA 163 D, Which I assume is a DuPont number. When I took that number to the auto paint shop they mixed a PPG paint number of DBU 28602 which matched absolutely perfectly.
Per Jimmie Jams suggestion I bought the Dupli Color GM 482 Lt. Sand Drift touch up. It is a dead on perfect match for the mag wheels. Much Much better than what GM recommends. Rich
Any one have a low milage original Goodyear rear tire for sale? jcmsp062@aol.com
Has anyone actually had a mag wheel refinished with recommendable results? If so, I'd love to know who did the work and their phone number. If you're in Norther VA, that would be even more helpful!

the magnesium rims look awesome on pewtwer, mag red, bowling green and even fairway green, the silvers, gray, black, and actually look good on white....dont care for them on electron blue, but the dark navy metallic blue looks good, oh and they look like crap on yellow in my opinion.
EDIT. dayum. i stand corrected. i thought i had seen them on yellow and didnt like em but im diggin those pics above. maybe they look good on any color hahaa
Its been three months today that I purchased my Vette! Anyways, when I bought my C5, I had no knowledge on the rims on vettes, and the one I got just happened to have Mags. They were not mentioned in the add for whatever reason but I sure do love them. My biggest complaint is the dings and niks as well. I find that they are fairly easy to keep clean. When I found out how much they cost, my jaw dropped to the floor!! Thats alot of coin for a basically factory looking rim, but I very thankful they are on the car

Anybody have pics of a stripped and polished set? I've heard they look amazing polished.
I was considering them for awhile, but after talking with a couple of the Goodyear garages in the area, I avoided them, because they say they are afraid to work on them as they are very fragile.

zon,
check the "search" for same. i think that i saw a thread a few months ago with pics of polished mags. they looked really good, but you have to clear them as they will tarnish quickly.
