Just a quick update, they called me around 2:30 and they were still buffing the panels out! I dropped my car off at 900am! Wow. If they have to repaint, I am seriously considering having the whole car repainted. If they are going to to do the doors, rear quarter panels, and rear, I might as well pay them to the the other half. Having your car painted in sections never turns out that well. Most people think that black is black. I've seen paint jobs where the blacks don't match.
Though I am extremely dissappointed with the service I got at the tint shop, I really don't want to bash a local company on a public forum. Those that are in the Boise area that would like the name of the shop, I can PM you with any information you might want. I would rather see how the repairs go and see if anyone balks at paying for it. If there are issues then, you will definitely see me back with another thread putting the wood to this business. I want to try and resolve this issue without much confrontation. Though it has been an inconvenience, it appears to be going somewhat smoothly thus far. I should be getting a call in about 10 minutes to let me know how things are going.

If you decide to paint the whole car, they should at least do the second half for you at their cost. It is their error that will result in the painting.
If the car needs paint work i would demand a complete paint job by the painter of my choice. Don't let these guys get the best of you it seems you are trusting them to much. Good luck.

I just called the auto body place and they said that they were coming out but it is very time consuming. They said that with what they have done, you cannot tell anything happened. They have had to wet sand all of the panels and then buff them out, which he said has gotten rid of some of the orange peel as well, which is good news. These guys work on a lot of Corvettes, and he said that they will not realease it until its right.
They have it for the whole weekend, so we'll see how it goes on Monday.

BE CARFUL. when you wet sand you loose paint. the orange peal will go away, but there is very little clear on these. if they are going down far enough to get into the color coat, you could have discoloration probs fairly soon unless they spray a little clear back over. this is pretty easy for a good body shop to do. and not that expensive. but very well worth the xtra step in the future. the blending is also lots easier than when trying to blend the color coat. sounds like they are doing right by you!!!!!
WOW! I thought my installation had a problem., but your's is much worse.
When I had the windows tinted in my 98 the installer dripped paint from a paint pen on the rear panel. He was marking the glass so he could splice in a piece of solid black vinyl to cover the dot matrix area of the rear glass. That drop of paint took me 20 minutes to carefully remove with a clay bar and that was immediately after it happened. Good thing I was right there watching the monkey. I hate taking my Corvettes in for anything.
It sounds like the Corvette shop you deal with is taking proper action to remedy this problem. Give them a chance and good luck.
Damn, I'm sure sorry to see that. These people are such tools sometimes. Yeah, to many it is just another car but can't you at least have an ounce of respect for someone else's property. Sorry for your trouble and I sure hope you get the outcome you hope for.

I've already been to a body shop and they think that they can be buffed out. They (window tinters) also put a pretty good scratch in the drivers door, which the auto body place was skeptical if they could buff that out as well. It might have to go in for paint.
You know, I just don't get people. How do you not put something over the car when you work on it. I never even put my own hands on my car unless there is a microfiber towel between my hand and the paint. Have some respect, not just for the car, but to the owner. If it's evident that the car is in great shape and taken good care of, why should you be any different when you work on it.
They said that they have tool belts on, but that there is never any metal that can touch the car. Anything, and everything (especially on a black car) can scratch the paint. I just hope everything works out. I'm running out of places that I can trust to work on my car. Thank god there is a wonderful Corvette service center here, otherwise I would be screwed.
Thanks for listening.

They have a low Give-a-sh*t level. Typical. I was going to have Best Buy install my XM. I asked the installer to sign a letter saying there were no scratches on the car when I dropped it off. He refused, I walked.
I dunno----It's shameful how uncaring and disrespectful some people are to other people's property. I think I'll have gone totally nuts if this would have happened to any of my cars.
