So, I have to preface this by saying I haven't had time to dive into it yet (hoping to get to it this weekend), but I thought I'd hit the C5 forum up for advice/recommendations before I start. I noticed last night that when I hit my key fob to lock/unlock the doors, only the driver's side lock would move. The passenger lock stood still. I got in the car and tried both the passenger and the driver's side lock buttons, which had the same result. I can (obviously) manually actuate the passenger-side door lock, but the in-car buttons, and the fob does nothing.
Now, I just noticed it yesterday, but I have a theory of when it occurred. About 2 months ago, I installed component speakers in both doors. I imagine this is when the problem started (I just didn't notice it until yesterday). Could this be a wire issue? As I stated, the buttons on the passenger side work. The window can roll up/down, and the lock/unlock button on the passenger-side door unlocks the driver's door. I imagine the window control module is alright.
In any case, I just wanted to see what your thoughts are. Thanks a bunch!
There are many posts on this topic. several within the last two weeks.
The problem is a dirty/arched, or worn out relay in the door control module. The three possible fixes... all in the posts are
1. replace the module... new about $300 + $300 labor
used $150 and DIY
2. clean the contacts in the prblematic relay.... $0 BUT its only a DIY... Dealer won't do it
3. Desolder and replace the problematic relay... again a DIY on the removal and replacement and either you do the desolder re solder or get an electronic tech to do it... Relays are under $2....

Good advice
I had the problem on my drivers door
The dealer replaced the module under warranty. Looks like the DIY fix would be a good option if your warranty has run out.
My passenger side went first about a year ago - then the driver's door.
They went gradually - working occasionally at first, then finally not working at all.
I got left and right modules replaced on warranty two days ago.
cost:
labor 348.30
module 196.32
module 181.83
shipping 8.47
total $734.92
