Even if a GTO were to beat me, the ladies would still want to ride in my car. That's more important to me

I struck up a good friendship at Atco (drag racing track in NJ) with a guy who had the LS-1 GTO. At the time he was a much more experienced racer. He always pulled about a car length on me off the jump but my stock C5 always pulled on him in the end due to the better power to weight ratio. I imagine as someone indicated it would depend more on the drivers as the new GTO with the LS-2 might make up for its weight better with 55 more hsp.

My wife has a 2003 M4 Coupe with the 273 rear end and It could'nt beat a GTO if Dale Jr. was driving the Vette! The base model is a real dog. GM is always shooting themselves in the foot on this issue. Believe it or not there are some folks who buy corvettes for reasons other than performance. Just because a car is not a Corvette does not mean it is not a nice car.

I am up for taking on any new GTO that is feeling froggy!!!!! The best and I mean THE BEST time I have seen in a new GTO in 1/8th mile is 8.70's and that was a guy that races every weekend in 6 & 7 sec. cars/trucks.....

Don't even think about comparing a Pontiac to a Vette. The Vette will draw more eyes than the GTO. The Vette will smoke the GTO in the
1/4 mile. The Vette will still be a Vette in 50 years!!!!! What will the GTO be??
