GTO vs C5

Someone said today that the new GTO will SMOKE any stock C5.....What do yall think about this???

What really makes me mad is that this guy drives a Mazda Protege(which he thinks is the SH$!@) and doesnt know anything about Vettes.

I have ran a few and beat them pretty bad BUT i do have a new Lingenfelter 346 motor. maybe I dont count but the guys I had run had some "mods" also.

The GTOs with the LS2 vs a LS1 C5 its mostly a drivers race. In a 1/4 mile. Ask the GTO to take a corner as the same speed as the C5 and u will find out who the real winner is

I drove a 2005 GTO at the local track, not timed, it's an oval track, and they are fast but I am pretty sure even in a straight line, the C5 is faster. The GTO m-6 seemed to get off the line better than my C5 auto, but the C5 pulls better and feels much faster through the gears. From about 30mph on, the stock C5 will walk away from the stock GTO. Now this is just from my expereance when I drove both cars. No two drivers will be the same, unless you drive them both... Both cars, my C5 and the GTO are stock.

I am with others here, don't care, I have a hotter looking ride and the GTO is not an overall better car, just a cavalier or sunfire on steriods.

Most of you lamed up on this one. Though it is not an end of the world question, it is an honest one.

Go find a GTO and run it. Then give us a definitive report on the outcome.
