Good morning all. I have a question about how a 2000 (vert) should respond when you get on it. Should there be a smooth, uninterrupted acceleration, or does the C5 have some quirks? Mine came with Magna Flows and a K&N air filter and was recently given a tune up by a dealer (I know some of you hate dealers, but I bought a GM extended warranty.)
The reason I ask is because when I go full throttle in 1st or especially 2nd, I can feel a sort of "stepped" acceleration rather than a linear one. What're your thoughts?
I'd Love to! Wheres a good place around Lacey WA?? LOL
And when you say tune, are you talking a good Dyno Tune, or timing, or what? What i mean is, Tune is fairly vague, what specifically should be looked at or changed?
And to the OP - My car is a '97 and when i'm putting along in 1st then step on it, I feel a linear pull of power... it doesn't really step. Just mashes me further and further in my seat... lol No VTEC in this bad boy...

Tune as in find someone that has a clue about tuning a C5 Corvette with LS1 Edit, HP Tuners or EFI Live and get your car tuned for maximum driveability plus power.
Tuning is still a black art - there is no "standard tune" you can just download and expect miracles.

p.s. Here is my latest VTEC sticker

My 2000 vert has a 'stepped' acceleration curve...it accelerates hard up to about 4000 rpm, then it 'steps' sideways when I lose the backend in 1st and 2nd gears!

Way to go BST. It's funny mine does the the same. Must be operator headspace.
I'm not sure what you mean by stepped acceleration, but mine is basically stock and it pulls with smooth, almost electric motor smooth, acceleration in any gear. The Corsa Indys really start talking about 3500 rpm!
