i hate this forum!
Never hesitate to overextend a tid bit. Life's to short to play it too safe.
I swear im obsessed... I cant decide anything except its going to be a 99 6spd... hopefully z51 with no dual zone... anything else is pretty much up to the car i find.
So, so true. It's hard to keep up with all the cool products you see on the forum.
Every day it's..."Oooo....got to have that on my Vette!"
Divorced in "86" and bought a "79"... Remarried in "90" and sold it!
Found a "01" NBM coupe in "04" and can truly now afford it!
There are more important things than a car, but once a vett gets in your heart it never goes away!!! Try to buy what you can afford, the less payments the better...

Save your beer money up for a nice down payment. You don't have to give up beer completely (and you are a better man than I if you do) but instead of buying your little knick-knacks and stuff, keep the money hidden away somwhere and forget you have it (keep adding to it though). I did for 3 years and now have an 01 vert.
Tell your S/O to stick to the dollar menu when you go out for dinner. This only helps with the vette money, though.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

If you work hard, you will achieve your goals... Good luck.

This is just my little way of saying grrr! reading these stories makes my hands ache for a steering wheel and brain try to figure any possible way to obtain one....
you guys suck, you make it worse!
keep it up everyone, and ill join you one day.

I understand where you're coming from, I had to wait 5 years to get mine (yes, I know, a lot of you are thinking that I was lucky to only have to wait 5 years). I used to be on the forum reading what people were saying. Heck, I even learned about the Corvette wave from this forum even before I had a Corvette! I used to dream about taking my future Corvette on cruises. I wanted it so bad, I could practically taste it! I guess my whole point to this is that wanting one as bad as you do will make you appreciate the car more when you have it because you'll think back to those days of dreaming of having one. I've had mine now for 2 years and I still think back to those days and it makes me love the car more.
Just my .02
You don't really care then.

Just kidding, I bought my house in March 2005, Vette in July 2005.

Just now turned 25. Quit slackin' and get crackin'.
no offense but the younger crowd has to struggle a lot more to afford to have a nice toy, and i dont wnat to do that. im going to have one soon and that i know for a fact. im not in a hurry, but i know what i want. i have other things i have to take care of first... (mortgage payments
) but hey... good things come to those who wait... so i dont get one when i wanted, but ill have it soon.i dont see a point in overextending on a car that isnt going to get anywhere but in the hole. i did that on the SRT and now im feeling the effects heheh...
life is all in the choices, live and learn and enjoy as you go...
so now that i say that, i went looking at some dealerships tonight, man vettes are scarce around here.... other than some 01 and 04s i didnt see anything on lots, so looks like ill have to look a bit more private.
until then....
