The A6 is a 6 spd auto not a direct shift gearbox a la Ferrari, Audi, BMW. The paddles are a gimmick on this tranny. If you like an automatic, the A6 is the way to go. I wouldn't mind one in my Tahoe. If you like to shift, stick with the MN6. In my case it has the added advantage of no worries about the wife trying to move/drive it.

I drove a BMW M3 with the paddles and it was outstanding. Certainly would out perform my MN6. Maybe GM should partner with BMW? I for one would take the paddles if they were like the BMW but not as GM has designed it. .
I have driven a paddle shift in my S4, loved it....I wish they would have a feature though that would disable shifting automatically once you get close to redline.
It was pretty fun to downshift in a turn while having the hands on the wheel.
