I finally got around to ordering some Ventmasters, for those who dont know what they are they are meant for coupes in holding the rear hatch 3" open to allow air to flow through the cabin when the top is off or the windows are down. This is supposed to smooth out the air flow so you don't get a ton of air buffetting when the air is going into the car and coming out at the same time.
So far so good. The engineering is ingenious of how it goes on by hooking it and twisting. Holds the rear nice and secure. Air is definately smoother, without the big rush of air moving all around.
The only downfalls:
1) Subwoofer is no longer being loaded by the cabin of the car, most of the bass escapes out the rear hatch.
2) Exhaust note at idle is significantly louder- for obvious reasons. Although taking off it does sound sweet.
3) Everyone thinks your hatch is open. I had two coworkers tell me today that my hatch is open.
I have thought about getting some of these. Does anyone know the best place to order them? I saw them in the ZIP products catalog for $59.95 and they have 10% off and free shipping right now.
Damn, I paid a little more for them, $69 from East Coast Corvettes. You can get them directly from ventmaster.net but my CC never worked on that site and when I called the number listed but some old guy (supposedly mr. ventmaster himself) got on the phone saying "hello".
Anyway, I should have mentioned the subwoofer is an aftermarket subwoofer in the rear hatch. With the hatch shut, the entire glass acts as a gigantic horn and aims the bass right at you. With the vent open, since it lets the air out, it also lets all the bass out.

Does the "hatch open" come on in the DIC? Thanks for the review
i love mine makes all the differance in the world ! if you put them on backwards you can get the hatch open on the dic . but my car is a 97 and the loops are differant on later yrs i think , so it may not be as easy to get them turned around after along winter
