Well, here's an update. Got the car back about 4:30 this afternoon, but I think they went ahead and flashed the PCM with the updated CL recall software. The car's idle appears to be hunting around like it's learning sensor settings, as if the battery has been disconnected. So, my guess is they did the recall anyway, but with my aftermarket CLB I'm hoping they didn't get into the dash. Luckily I didn't have a custom tune! 
They claimed the diff was leaking from the vent tube. They remedied by attaching a hose to the vent and routing it up into the fenderwell. The claim is that 90% of the leaking diffs on the '04 Z's is the vent, so they cleaned up the mess underneath and I'll monitor to see if this fixes the problem.
I do like the idea of the post-it stuck to the dash! I'll remember that next time. FLYNBYA, I won't mention any names, but let's just say your guess puts you in the 99th percentile. Where do you take your ride for service? If my car wasn't under warranty, I'd fix it myself!
