Default Trunk Liner

I bought one for my 50th and it's a hunk of crap. As soon as it gets hot the adhesive melts and the liner falls out. Im sure Im not the only one this happens to. How did some of you fix it?

I had the same problem untill I cleaned the underside of the trunk lid really good with denatured alcohol. That did the trick.

Same problem here, but when it gets hot in the trunk the glue lets go of the cardboard backing material. I have tried both industrial strength velcro and 3M double sided tape - neither hold to the cardboard.
Someone here (sorry, can't remember the name) posted about cutting his and making a 3-piece liner. I am going to try this, using something other than the cardboard!

Default 3-piece trunk lid liner

I wish I had seen this before I bough the one from MidAmerica. Looks better and worth the few extra $$ IMHO. May have to go for this one sometime in the future. Tired of re-installing the one I have.

Yea the velcro and double sided tape doesn't work very good in the heat and went you happen to hit a bump too hard !
I cut some hard rubber blocks and used some carpenters type glue and just glued it on .... hasn't fallen since and you can't tell it's glued on !

Bought the Mid America one and have had no problem even during the hot Missouri heat.

I drilled holes and fitted push clips. Scroll down to the end of this thread to see the pics.

I did the same thing with mine except instead of using the black plastic push clips I picked up some chrome round head screws with little chrome cups they fit into to screw mine on. I also added a few evenly spaced dummy screws to make it look like it was attached all the way around the edge. I'll try and get a few pictures and post them when I get home.
I'm not sure what the "chrome cups" are called off the top of my head, they used them in the interior of older cars.

I added some extra stryofoam where I felt there wasn't enough support and it still came off in two spots. Hot glue gun solved the problem
