Default Decisions, decisions...

The military is sending me TDY (temporary duty) to Fort Rucker Alabama, aka BFE or LA (lower Alabama)! Its an 850 mile round trip, plus whatever I drive while working there for two weeks. My Z already has 56K on the speedo and I hate running the mileage up. The alternative is a Ford Taurus rental from Hertz. If I drive my own car, I get 44 1/2 cents a mile for gas and wear and tear. Someone help me out here, the Hertz or the Z? Never mind, I think I just answered my own querry!

How do you folks feel about running up mileage on a Z? It's a 2002 EB!

It's a Z not a bentley. They were made to be driven hard and enjoyed!

Just think of the "miles of smiles" ahead of you when driving the Z.

Being in the Military myself I laugh when they offer me a Gov or a rental. I drive mine even when they don't/won't pay me for it and I love it.
Give me one excuse to drive anywhere and you better talk fast cause I'm gone.

I didn't intend to make it look like I am in the military. I am a civilian government contractor working for the Army in flight simulation (AVCATT). I retired three years ago as a CW5 helicopter pilot (Master Aviator) after nearly 30 years of service. I guess that does count though. I too appreciate your service sir!

By the way, I am driving the ZO6 to Mother Rucker!

I drove mine home (Ohio) from vegas and enjoyed every minute of it. I drive it (gasp) in the rain, in the heat and will be driving it up to the day that it starts snowing. I enjoy the car too much to put away in the garage too long!
