I have sometimes wondered what would happen hitting a deer with a vette. From your pics, the damage was not as bad as I thought it would be. I always figured the deer would be sitting in the car with me (vert). Although the smallest damage would make any vette owner feel bad. At least it is all fixed now.

What really saved me from personal injury and the rest of the car from more damage (as if $5200 isn't enough) was the pop-up headlight on the right side. I saw Bambi about two nano-seconds before we hit and swerved left. The front right bumper area hit the deer, she came up over the top, and clobbered the raised headlight. The headlight knocked her off the hood and over to the side of the road--about 20 feet from the impact point. Most of the damage was caused by the headlight twising around and back. The hood, fender, wheel house, and more were all damaged not by the deer directly but by the headlight.
Had the headlights not been up during the collision (or had this been a C-6) the deer would probably have joined me in the passenger compartment and the damage to the car and injury to me would probably have been much worse.

Vinnie, sorry to hear about the accident but more glad to hear you're OK. In Northern Ontario, there are 1-2 human deaths a year attributed car accidents with deer, bears, moose, etc. I know its your baby but cars can be fixed alot easier than humans.
vinnie........sorry to hear it man. as you wisely noted, even a fraction of a second in seeing & reacting to deer can make a huge difference. we live in pa about 10-15 min from some place you may have heard of (carlisle )----------& the # of deer in this area are scary. we've yet to whack one but have had so many close calls since they just pop out so quickly. you have to be on your guard every second. hope our luck holds.....bub

Slightly off topic. I'm new to posting pictures. Can anyone tell me why when I attach a picture I get the link showing instead of the actual picture like everyone else?
Hey, I am sure a lot of AE Red owners would like to know how the color match came out. Rumor is that is a tough color to get right. For the coin you paid I bet it is perfect .

They charged the insurance company 150% of normal because the paint is three step. Millenium Yellow and Mag Red are also three step paint instead of the normal two.
