Took the Targa off and as I was driving around 70mph I heard an aweful noise and noticed the vanity mirror on the passenger's side sunvisor detatched and was hanging by the wire that powers the lights. Luckily the glass didn't break.
Is there a way to reattach the mirror to the visor? I've looked at it and I can't figure out how it was attached originally.
I'd really prefer to fix it rather than buying a replacement at $90-$100...

I'll bet a hot glue gun would do the trick. Funny that you mention this. The mirror on my driver's visor was starting to pull away as well, but I swapped it for a new Homelink visor from Vettemods. I'd like to figure out how to get just the front cover off intact, though, because my passenger side mirror has a broken hinge on one side...

Mine did not fall completly off. I fixed mine by counter sinking into the plastic and used two very small wood screws to attach. The adhesive method did not look like it would hold very long to me.
Good luck

how do you rate the quality of the piece you got from vettemods?
It runs off the same power as your vanity mirror lights. So it's all self contained.
I rate the quality 10 out of 10. It's a genuine GM visor that they bought new and modified. so it's a perfect match to the one that came with the car, the only difference is that it's missing the air bag sticker and has the Homelink built-in.
i'm looking for one of those fancy gentex mirrors with the homelink and maplights built all in one but i was told those are being discontinued so the visor mod may be a good alternative.

If you have an '01 or newer, then the Gentex Swiss Army Knife mirror might be a bit overkill and a waste of money, since you already have the auto-dimming feature. Wait, you'd get a compass. I also don't think that the Gentex is a straight swap and that you'd have to install their harness. Since mine is an '02, leaving the mirror alone and buying the visor seemed to make a lot more sense. I opted for a new visor, but Vettemods will also modify your existing visor for less $$ if you want.

I had the same problem with my passenger visor in March. Picked up a new visor w/mirror from the stealership for $55, which was discounted down from $75 by a friend at the parts counter.
had the same problem a few weeks back. There are plastic pins that attach the trim around the mirror to a plastic piece inside of the visor to hold it together. Once they break you have to either buy a new visor or attach the mirror frame by some other means. I used 4 rivots, one on each corner. They hold tighter than the original fasteners and still fit flush. I will see if I can get some photos and post them if you are interested. Took about 1 hour and small hands. Cant even tell they are there.

y2k here, so just a plain mirror with no bells and half a whistle.
So silicone, rivets, and 3M double sided tape... I'd like to see some pictures of the rivets... And pictures of any of the other means posted if yall have some.
The driver's side mirror is getting loose now too...
