So a convertible windshield doesn't have an antennae either. I am just a bit concerned that once a new windshield is installed it may be near impossible to tell the correct Z windscreen from the thicker one for the convertible.

I had horrible experiences with Safelite or whatever they're called (the ones who do GEICOs work unless you ask otherwise). I now avoid all such "franchise" come-to-you operations. Do yourself a favor and find a good local glass shop that'll do the job at their shop and stand behind their work. Local independent outfits have reputations to protect, and that's a good thing.
