Im in the same boat. Brought my 97 in, now I have the pull key, service column, and fuel cut.

I realy hate to bring it back to the dealer because they broke my dash the first time and made a BS story like it was broke before I brought it there.

I think its time I call the 800 # and bitch.

CLB time also....this stuff sucks!

Every time I've taken my car to the dealer for some type of warranty work it always comes back damaged or scratched and they always say that they didn't do it.
Best thing is get the CLB and be done with it.

FYI, Same problem happened to my car. I had the GM recall done early this year and it seem to work find until...2weeks ago. I left my car stationary for 7 days and the battery went dead. I had it jump and drove it several miles with no problem. Later one morning, I went to crank it up and got the check column lock message. I can't get it to drive. I need to tow it back to the shark pit service advisor again.

I just wanted to say THANKS to everyone at the Forum for reaching out to help one another in times of tech support. "Stealerships" just want to help us do one thing...to give them our green.

But now I seem to have another problem, which may have triggered the first. While picking my car from the deal (unfortunately after the service shop was closed) I got the infamous, remove key for 10 seconds and reinsert. While my steering wheel did not lock, my engine died. After reinserting, the engine started and everything was fine. Later I tried to start the car and got the same message and the same results (now two times in a row). The third time I started the car I had not problem. I get the sense something else is going out...........BJ98
I had the same symptoms - after the clb was installed. It was not the clb or the recall... it was a worn chip on my key. Replaced the key and have not had a problem since.

Will GM pay for an actuator replacement? I need to know this since I just got zinged for $567.00 yesterday even though I had the earlier plate recall done (A4). Anybody know if I have a bitch to be had?
