I'm looking to purchase a 2002 vert. Are there any problems particular to putting the top up and down?? Are all the C5's done manually or is there any that are done with the push of a button? Sorry to be so dumb on this but I really don't know so be kind. Thanks!

I put my top down and up on 3 occasions today...in under a minute each time...its really simple and easy once you have done it for the first time
That I know of, they are all manual tops. I was surprised to find this out too, but if you think about it you'll never have to worry about the top not going up. I bought my 01 C5 vert a few weeks ago and I love it. There are a few things to look for when you get yours. Check for leaks. There is a thread or two on the subject just run a search. The one thing I have yet to see anyone mention in those threads is the glass coming unglued from the top. That’s what happened to mine so wind and water can make it into the inside. I have found a company that makes replacement tops for a decent price and they double bond the glass to the canvas. Other than that I have not found anything else negative about the convertible model.
Other things I have noticed is the head light covers on both sides have factures that run across the section where the two screws hold the covers on the back side. I need to take pictures to better illustrate what I mean.
I have an 02 vert and love it. You must, I repeat must have a Window Valet. The best $150 you can spend. It lets you open/close both windows with your key fob. When I park, I just pull up the top, partially engage the drivers side latch (so as not to distort the gasket) and click "lock" three times. Getting back in, click "unlock" 3 times, flip the latch & drop the top. It's simple and fast with no cranky motors/switches to break. Added bonus, it lets the heat out and makes entry/exit easier in a tight parking space (if you absolutely have to park there) even if you keep the top up.
As everyone says. Stock was manual but there are aftermarket power kits although with a hefty weight and cost penalty. They also take up room in the trunk.
The raising and lowering really is effortless, even more so with a Window Valet. And theres less to go wrong.
