On the SCMR trip last Saturday I got 23mpg over a course of 280 miles but there was alot of high revving involved and mountain roads.
Going to Oxnard and back for A&A Corvette's get-together in June, I pulled 421 miles on the tank for 25.47mpg. Again, I had a lead foot either playing with corvettes on the drive up, or beating down 2 porsches and a 350z on the ride home going a wheeeee bit too fast. I got a lead foot what can I say. My 2.73 gears need a heavy foot to move that car out of the hole. I get 18-21 daily driving half city and half freeway but that lead foot is for me hearing my Borla Stingers.
Are all these MPG numbers coming from your guy's DICs? My goodness that sounded naughty! Or are you actually calculating miles driven by how much gas you are replacing in your tanks? I, like most single women do not trust DICs too much... (Sorry, couldn't resist)

No if you read my post you will notice that my milage was actual calculated on one full tank of gas and a 400 or so mile run down Rt 81...
To be honest I never have used the DIC to look at
gas milage ....and I mean never...

That is pretty poor mileage, you will get your *** kicked here by most.
I averaged 32 mpg on a 2500 miles trip acroos Canada and the USA with an average of 70 mph. I have a 2001 A4
I've hit 28 mpg but my dad got 34 mpg AVERAGE for a 500 mi trip including city driving! I don't want to know how he was doing it...but I do know he didn't heat up my 02's enough with the longtubes and fouled them out. I had to give it a good rip to clean them out and clear the codes.
One day the traffic was really flying along, and I was just tucked into the flow at about 80 or so. I had the DIC switched to Instantanious MPG and was watching the numbers upand down with road grade. We crested a rise and began to slow, so I lifted off throttle and began the downhill.....For a few seconds it hit 99 MPG.
I have repeated the same section of freeway regularly, but always at a more reasonabme speed, and never gotten the 99 again. I think the speed at around 80 had a lot to do with it.
I have the 3.15 A4 setup, Halltech Stinger filter and airbridge, ZO6 tailpipe/mufflers, LS1 Edit, dyno tuned up for HP at least as much as you can push the mix and timing on an internally stock engine, and with higher shifting RPM points programed into the A4. .... and we get in the neighborhood of mid to upper 20s on the hiway, sometimes even hit 30. mid teens around town stop and go traffic with an ocassional 'goose' thrown in. I have no complaints about MPG at all.

I just got back from a road trip and got 31.6 mpg on one tank. All the others were 30ish
I have 3 cars and the 2004 CE gets 31 + (the best of the 3) when I cruise about 70 mph. I rarely exceed that speed by much . . . been there and done that for too many years . . . going to be 69 next birthday. . .
I get my need for speed from my 750CC Honda VFR sport bike. Got that beauty up to 142 mph out in Montana a few years back. That was a lot of fun. I like to cruise mostly. My 6 speed is great for going from a stop up to 70 and keeping an eye on the guy in the rear view mirror
I get about 25 with a half and half mix and some spirited driving. Ive noticed the DIC is about 2-4 mpg higher give or take, due to idling and first motions and such.

On a recent trip from Tulsa to St Louis I got 28.2 pencil and paper mpg. The DIC gave me 30.2. I was running 70-75 mph, no stops. Fuled in Tulsa and again in Collinsville,IL. '02 vert, A4, 3.15 rear end. I usually get 24 around town, sometimes 22 in heavy traffic.
I got 36 driving from Alpena,Mi. to Clarkston,Mi.(200 mi.). I thought it might be a mistake. Three weeks later, I repeated that trip, and got 37. Dang, I love this car!
