Convertable top adjustment help needed

Convertable top adjustment help needed
I have a recent problem with my convertable top. When I open and close the hard boot it rubs the rear of the top on the lowest center part of the hardboot. I'm hoping someone else knows if there is an adjustment that applies to my problem. Any ideas?

Although the tech tip states it's for an '01 - I think this would work for any year C5 convertible....

This is quite common and I don't know that there is much one can do as far as adjustments go. The center of the stowage compartment lid is actually rubbing on the cloth flap that lays on top of the lid when the top is up. In the later model years, GM added a reinforced rub strip to the cloth flap where the lid rubs it. Our '03 has this added rub strip. I've gotten into the habit of lightly pushing the cloth flap away with the fingers of my left hand while closing the lid with my right. Good luck with yours.

I just checked my '98, it rubs that flap also, I suspect that it's always done that and it doesn't cause any problems. there are no marks on the tonnau cover from it.

I have noticed on my 01' that if you get the top in just the right spot, it does NOT rub, takes a little practice. Seems like they could have engineered this a little bit better. I would imagine the only real adjustment for this in the bolts at the pivot point insode the quarter panels. The top needs to move FORWARD a fraction.

I think you hit the nail on the head, I will try to move the top forward a bit on its mounts. If it works I will post the results. Thank you everyone for the feedback.
