I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion - including those that have negative opinions. And the originator of the thread - Daleford started the thread solicting opinions, and I'm quite sure that he knew he would receive some negative comments.

The point is -when you mod your car, who are you modding it for? Are you trying to change the car so that you can please everyone? If so - leave it stock. Approximately 250,000 C5's were sold that way - so they must have pleased someone bone stock. Or are you trying to please yourself? I would guess you are trying to please yourself - and seeking validation from a bunch of people on a forum can be a dangerous thing, especially if your feelings bruise easily.

I give Daleford a lot of credit for making the changes to his car that pleased him - and even fabricating his own rear deck spoiler - but most of all after his hard work and his money is spent, for soliciting opinions here. He has taken the negativity in stride and not responded in kind.

That said - while you are entitled to express your opinion - I don't think it's necessary to state it in such a way that it's mean spirited and attacking. Speak your piece - "I DON'T LIKE IT" and move on. Enough said. Call me an old fart if you want - to say it looks like "AZZ" or to state some of the other responses strikes me a the "pack mentality" and being an E-thug. I make it a point to not say anything online that I wouldn't say to someone's face. Would you walk up to someone that you don't know and state - "I hate your car and it looks like $hit. You must be a moron for making the modifications that you've made. You have taste in you A$$."? I doubt it. You'd shake your head, and walk away, thinking to yourself - "I don't like it." It works the same way on the internet. My .02 deposited....

Three questions please:

1. Can any forum member use this link?
2. Is there a limit to the number of uploads?
3. How long do you leave them there before deletion?

Thanks!

So does that make you an "Old E-Fart??"

Being the E-Thug that you claim that I am, I can assure you I would NEVER say something that I wouldnt say DIRECTLY to your face...

Sometimes I feel like I bought my car 25 years too soon. Corvettes sould be like those age restricted housing communities. You need to be 55 or older before your allowed to buy one..

BTW---sharp car---just posted a thread asking about the same stuff you put on your car but with a racing wing---everyone that talked to me spoke their opinion kindly---not mean at all---bottom line---if YOU like that is all that matters.

Sometimes I feel like I bought my car 25 years too soon. Corvettes sould be like those age restricted housing communities. You need to be 55 or older before your allowed to buy one..
You also have to remember that online comments are read with our own version of the "tone" we think you are using not necessarily how you are saying it. I don't think it is what you said (ok maybe a little better choice in words could be used to describe your distaste) but how it was perceived to be heard---which you would get online anywhere---if you actually said comments to someone in person the way your tone was perceived it could be a problem to the other person---I'm sure if you said it to someones face it would sound much different than reading it. It also looks like you were trying to show that you were making light of your comments (comment on your car and laughing)--not trying to be mean at all.

Sometimes asking opinions online are not really worth it but then again you could always make the choice not to say anything at all. (hence the old saying "if you don't have anything good to say--say nothing at all")

I got the same opinions on putting a greenwood kit on my 99 but everyone said it pleasantly and I did not take offense to anyone's comments--as there was nothing to take offense to. I am also taking their advise and looking at alternatives because the suggestions were very nice. It's all in how you read the post..

If I saw that car at a carshow I would cry a little and inform him that he has ruined a beautiful Corvette.
