How wide?
I have 18x335/30 Mich PS on 18x12 rim. The 335 Mich is 13.1" wide. It fits with tub but I have rubbed the inner wheel well out from high speed corners and the tire flex.
My track wheels are 18x335/30 Hoosers on 18x13" rim. The Hoosiers are 13.6" wide. These wells need a 5/8" spacer and longer studs to fit.

If you get airborn in the rear do the rims hit the A-Arms ?
What wheels are you running ? CCW's ?

And, again, wheel offset is the key. Now, with that being said, a 315mm width tire mounted to an 11.0 inch wide wheel on the rear axle of a C5 with an offset based upon the Corvette C5's o.e. positive offset, WILL fit within the fenderwells. Moreover, one may even install a 325mm tire onto an 11.5 inch wide rear wheel (this is a good tire and wheel size match) onto a C5 without tubbing. In fact, with an exacting, and, very specific wheel offset, this specific tire and wheel combo may still possibly fit out to, and, at the very edge of the fenderwell, if not slightly beyond. Also, several wheel manufacturer-distributors offer the 11.5 now including CCW, and, slightly protrude.
Lastly, keep in mind that for a proper and safe custom tire and wheel application, complete clearance WITHIN the fenderwells is always paramount. Always properly match tire size, and, tire size availability to proper wheel width. Tire clearance is always dependent upon not only wheel offset, but, also, fenderwell size, the height and angle of tire shoulder tread design (as mentioned above), type of suspension, suspension travel, and, how low the vehicle has been lowered. BTW: Four years ago, Mallett had a special wheel made in 11.5 for the C5 with a special offset that accommodated this sizing (the 325mm width tire with an 11.5 inch wheel). Therefore, this sizing is not new.
Now, for anything wider than 11.5, the vehicle (a Corvette C5) must be tubbed. A tubbed C5 could easily accomodate (with a positive o.e. C5 offset) a 12 inch wide wheel with a 345mm width tire. Furthermore, FYI: ACP does offer 3/4 inch extended rear C5 quarter panels that could accommodate 335mm tires, for those who do not wish to "Tub" the cargo areas of their C5's. Good luck to you.

With the 13" rims here are the spacers I use:

Thanks for info. My brother was thinking of tubbing his car and running the 18's with 335's but someone he was talking to said that he might hit his rear "A"arms if he got airborn with rims that size and width.
