My 02 is completely stock. I am going to start small with the mods, and work my way up.
I was thinking the intake first, then based on other posts I have read get the LG pro long tubes, with high flow cats, and x pipe. Then follow through with a Ti Z06 catback. Think that will sound sweet, and flow good? I was wanting the Ti exhaust because I didnt want a lot of drone that other systems have.
For the intake, do you suggest the blackwing, or the halltech. Are they about the same? Do any of the forum vendors have it on sale right now?

thanks!
I went Halltech. Seemed to be the easiest install.
Ive got the Halltech Stinger because it comes with the filter, the air bridge and the smooth coupler all together. Ease of installation and quality of materials was very good. Be aware that the Halltech air bridge does not "quite" clear the hood when closed. This did not cause any issues for me and only made the hood a little harder to slam shut.
Again, for the price if you look at everything the Halltech comes with, it can't be beat. Look on eBay.....

thats strange. never heard that problem before. make sure its on correctly, mine fits just fine, no problems w/ the hood...
Jim makes a great product... best deal... halltech is the way to go.
I don't know about the blackwing or the halltech, but I just put on a Vortex system, and I have the z06ti's. A seat of your pants difference in the upper RPM range. More air in and more air out does make a difference. I got my vortex used from a member for a fair price, and I can't see how any other system could get you colder air that the vortex. I am sure they all make a difference, the filter must be a good one, stay away from the cheap e-bay filters.
If cost is no object, get the Callaway Honker at $500. However, if you are on a limited budget, the Halltech Stinger is a great intake at a decent price. As was mentioned previously, it comes with the huge Warhead filter, larger-than-stock airbridge, and smooth TB coupler, all for the same price as a Blackwing filter.
Now if you want cold air infusion to the Halltech, check out my CAI mod for both Stingers and Blackwings:

I've had both. I sold the Halltech and now have the Blackwing which I like much better and IMO, it looks better. In both cases, the instructions for installation suck.
Thanks! I tested the before and after setups using a CAR Chip OBD data aquisition tool. The standard setup without cold air mod allowed intake temps to reach 144 degrees F on a Summer day in stop&go traffic. Even after getting on the highway and driving for 20 minutes at 75 MPH, the intake temps never got lower than 120 or so. What does this mean? Potentially, it means that power is dialed back (retarded timing to prevent knocking) by 10 horsepower.
By comparison, the Stinger with CAI mod never let the intake air temp get past 104F in stop&go driving and quickly brought the temps down to 80 after less than a minute of highway driving. The key is getting cold air to the intake filter.
